Joining the California Association of Anger Management Providers (CAAMP) connects members with a leading professional organization dedicated to the advancement of anger management services, research, and the professional development of certified anger management facilitators. As an independent body, CAAMP plays a pivotal role in standardizing anger management provider services across California, promoting effective methods and techniques, and advancing the professional credentials of its members.

Membership Eligibility and Benefits: To be eligible for inclusion on the CAAMP provider's list, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Certification: Obtain certification through a CAAMP/National Anger Management Association (NAMA) approved program.
  2. Supervised Sessions: Complete at least four sessions of supervision by a CAAMP/NAMA approved supervisor.
  3. Professional Requirements: Fulfill one of the following:
  • Hold a clinical license (e.g., Psychiatrist, Psychologist, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC) or be an intern of these licenses.
  • Have extensive group facilitation experience.
  • Work a minimum of 18 hours weekly for at least three months under the supervision of a clinical supervisor or a certified CAMS-II to V.

Who Can Join: Membership is open to a diverse range of professionals including anger management providers, clinicians, researchers, educators, social service providers, parole/probation officers, legal professionals, law enforcement professionals, and other helping professionals involved in anger management.

CAAMP also offers leadership through its Certified Anger Management Facilitator Training program, a comprehensive provider directory, and various other initiatives aimed at increasing public awareness and knowledge about anger management through conferences, media, and legislative efforts.

This strong foundation allows our members to excel in their practice and contribute positively to the community while adhering to the highest standards of practice and ethics in anger management.
